Title: A Eulogy for a Loving Mother
Scripture: Proverbs 31
Sermon:
1. Friends, we have gathered here to praise God and to witness to our faith as we celebrate the life of _______. We come together in grief, acknowledging our human loss. May God grant us grace, that in pain we may find comfort, in sorrow hope, in death resurrection.

5. Jesus said,
I am the resurrection and I am life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, yet shall they live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. I died, and behold I am alive for evermore, and I hold the keys of hell and death. Because I live, you shall live also.
6. Comfort in Grief
As we seek comfort today, we’re assured that _______ is with the Lord Jesus Christ; yet her death leaves a vacancy in our lives that no one can replace!
7. Apostle Paul's Encouragement
Apostle Paul wrote “Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed.”
The Bible constantly informs us there will be difficult times in life; yet the Bible is also clear that as we face difficult times, God is with us, God is there to comfort us, guide us and sustain us.
For God does not always calm the storm in our life, but He calms His chosen people in the midst of the storm!
Proverb 31 Message
1. _______ dedicated her life to raising her children; she was a homemaker. And she dedicated her life to God. One of the sweetest, nicest ladies you could ever know, she came from a home of two brothers and nine sisters. The following is an acronym of the word Mother this Proverb I believe was made for _______:
M is for the Million things you did. She was faithful to the UMC and Red Hat Society; you probably wonder how did she ever do all the things she did.
The Proverb says 12 a woman of noble character. She brings good, not harm, all the days of her life (Talking with the Family all I heard were the good things she did.)
13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands (I believe she desired to please others more than herself; that is why she worked with eager hands).
The Proverb claims the woman in the text 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. (_______ never stopped caring for her home and caring for her children.) 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. The entire family gave her praise because she certainly deserves it.
2. O is for the overtime you had to do. _______ was the opposite of the sluggard.
The Proverb shares a woman of self-sacrificing character: 15 She gets up while it is still dark; (She arises early to get it done) she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls.
_______ went above and beyond; she went the extra mile. Raising children is hard enough, but one that is challenged is even harder.

_______ had many attributes; I am sure one of those was she was constantly training her family for the future. She taught her children about life, and I am sure she told you about Jesus and the importance of faithfulness to church. She is wise and a loving counselor. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

Her presence brought happy circumstances, and she radiated joy to others. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
1 Peter 3: 3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. 4 Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. Yes, _______ was a beautiful lady, but more importantly, her beauty was her heart.
_______ has done many noble things; she has surpassed the attributes of a mother.
In the eyes of this family, she has surpassed all the expectations of a Mother.
Yes, she has made many amazing meals to eat, but she also made meals of Teaching, meals of laughter, meals of encouragement, meals of Security, and meals of love.
She watched the affairs of our household,
She spoke with wisdom and given faithful instructions,
She worked vigorously for her family,
She has extended her hands to the needy; she made a house a home,
She will receive the crown of life because she gave much life to all.
_______ certainly demonstrated by her life the virtuous woman Loved God, Loved Family, loved others. God has given us this precious Mother; it is time for us to give her back to the one who created her and say Thank you for this precious soul!
